04 — Networking & Connectivity
A stronger network starts with the infrastructure behind it.
- FOR
- Facilities, campuses and multi-site organisations building or upgrading their network.
- ENGAGEMENT
- Site survey and design, fixed-scope project delivery and optional ongoing support.

Business challenges
What usually brings organisations to us.
Wi-Fi that drops out
Coverage gaps and congestion frustrate users and break critical applications.
Undocumented cabling
Nobody knows what connects where, so every fault takes hours to trace.
Sites that can't talk to each other
Branches and buildings run on slow or single links with no failover.
Upgrades that disrupt operations
Network changes clash with clinical, teaching or business activity.
What DET delivers
Infrastructure that is designed, documented and reliable.
Properly engineered networks from the building riser to the access point, with multi-site connectivity and field engineers on hand.
- 01A site survey and design that reflects how each building is actually used, before any cable is pulled.
- 02Standards-based installation — tested, labelled and documented — handed over with as-built records.
- 03Carefully sequenced implementation that keeps disruption to hospitals, schools and offices to a minimum.
Capabilities
Detailed service capabilities
Delivered by DET engineers and consultants, with certified technology partners where the work calls for it.
Structured cabling
Copper and fibre cabling, containment, termination, testing, labelling and documentation.
Business & campus Wi-Fi
Coverage-led wireless design, access-point placement and configuration for the space and user load.
Fibre links, last-mile & building risers
Inter-building fibre, risers and last-mile connectivity that link sites into one network.
Racks, patching, labelling & power
Cabinets, patch panels, cable management, UPS and power so the core of your network stays tidy and resilient.
SD-WAN, failover & multi-site
Resilient links between branches with automatic failover and central management.
Smart-hands field engineering
Engineers on site for installations, moves, fault-finding and vendor support.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do you survey sites before quoting?
Yes. For anything beyond a small installation we survey first, so the design and quotation reflect the building, the users and the existing infrastructure. You can request a site survey online.
What equipment do you install?
We deploy enterprise equipment from partners including Huawei, Molex and Linkqnet, and can source other leading brands to match your specification.
Do you provide documentation?
Yes. Installations are tested, labelled and handed over with documentation, as specified in the project scope.
Can you work in live hospitals and schools?
Yes. Much of our recent work has been in operating hospitals, schools and government buildings, where we plan and sequence work to minimise disruption.
